34. Bangladesh Center for Worker Solidarity director in Seattle 4/23-4/24

•April 23-24th – Seattle has the repeat honor of hosting Kalpona Akter, executive director of the Bangladesh Center for Worker Solidarity. She will be in town with a garment worker as part of the “End Death Trap Factories” 10 city nationwide tour. We are collaborating with local coalition partners (Washington Fair Trade Coalition, UW-USAS, and OUR Walmart) to organize local events including: Support for sweat-free purchasing policies for Washington State ; a forum to hear from the Bangladeshi delegation and other workers in Walmart’s supply chain demanding justice; and an action in front of a Walmart store… more details to come!
