In reply to the discussion: The new Zinnia, now fortified with Bokeh [View all]Solly Mack
(94,944 posts)11. I love the results but the work is getting to be much too much.
My bee balm needs year round attention if only to make sure their growing area is ready for the next season then once blooming, a lot of pruning and shaping to keep it contained.
My flowers are in a small area so I have to constantly work at keeping all the flowers happy.
My front flower beds are easy - water and deadheading. They die back during the winter and come back strong during the spring. It helps that I built an actual flower bed for them.
The back will get a flower bed after this season to make it easier on me.
I enjoy the gardening but my back - Oh, my back - doesn't.
