We lived on the village limit. Taking trash and burning it in the barrel was a chore we boys took on at the ripe old age of... 8. I remember how I had to reach up on tip toes and push the bags over the rim. Lighting the newspaper with matches and hoping to get it in before burning down. Hated dragging trash out in the snow... but the pyro in me was tickled pink!
