11. It's genetic. Some people never get wisdom teeth.

It's not a case of them just not erupting. Some people - I'm one of them - never had any 3rd set of molars to erupt.

Among the indigenous people of Mexico, 100% of them do not get wisdom teeth. The lack of wisdom teeth is more common in Asia and among indigenous people of the Americas. It's due to the PAX9 gene.
