opposite reaction from Golden Earring (they were friends with Keith and other members of the Who, and toured with them) when they first heard Zeppelin. From what I recall reading, George Kooymans, the Earring's guitarist, said they (the Earring) might as well retire as long as Led Zeppelin was around.

Of course Golden Earring was a fantastic band, too, made up of great musicians. And they didn't disband till last year, 60 years after George formed the first lineup of the band. Forty-one years after Zeppelin disbanded after John Bonham's tragically young death.
