I always thought it would have been appropriate to welcome the athletes with movie sound track fanfares and marches, such as Parade of the Charioteers from Ben Hur, Indiana Jones' main theme, Superman, Captain from Castile, March to the Castle, Mary, Queen of Scots and so forth.
