He was obnoxious , getting on to faces of protesters! He was repeatedly told to get out of the way. Protesters were not there to give time to the bozo and debate him. They kept telling him get lost. They were not interested debating some random idiot.

Doubt many knew who he was. I had not heard of him before this.
He was probably counting on protesters to show self restraint and then later brag about confronting them. To some extent he did get what he wanted, as other protesters stepped in to save his ass from getting a real beating.
