13. How far do we let this go?

As far as the First Amendment reaches.

The First Amendment is not subject to truth commissions that get to decide what is an approved truth and what is not.

We do not have censors. We have the marketplace of ideas. We let different ideas compete, different versions of the truth, and, yes, even lies compete.

The problem is not that certain media lies. The problem is that people are not interested enough or patient or educated enough to ferret out the truth for themselves.

Fox News exists because people watch it. Same for Limbaugh. His sponsors must like him. His listeners must like him.

It's up to us to compete with all their noise and lies.
