7. I don't have "hope" things WILL get better. I have facts showing things ARE getting better.

On earth today, deaths by war are getting smaller, wars are getting fewer, most poor countries are getting more prosperous, life expectancy is getting longer, diseases are getting rarer, crime is going down, and quality of life is going up. These are over all trends, not anecdotal terrible things to see on the news and get worried about. Almost all overall trend lines show human society getting more peaceful and less violent and more healthy.

There's only one trend line to worry about--rising sea levels (especially once Siberia starts to thaw out its permafrost). That shit scares me. Imagine losing Miami, Galveston, Manhattan, Bangldesh. But the rest of the trend lines look pretty positive (including a general slowing down of world population growth--plateauing out sometime before 2070.)
