5. I am not a liberal because I want 'stuff'

I work hard, and have been fortunate to be able to keep my well-paying job. I don't need anyone to give me anything. I am a liberal because I feel a responsibility to others who are not as well off as I am. I think that children deserve to be well fed, and well educated, even if their parents are poor. I believe that those accused of crimes deserve fair trials and good legal representation. I believe that no one should ever have to choose between eating and taking the medicines their doctor has prescribed.

I have to admit, that I sometimes wonder if my taxes are higher than they should be, but I am also proud that I do pay to support my country.
