Let's assume that a child that would have otherwise been aborted due to horrific circumstances such as rape is forced to be born and due to his/her unfortunate circumstance of being born to a mother who was not ready for such a difficult task, grows up with some questionable ethics and morals.

Fast forward 20 years or so. The same child decides that all his life's woes are the result of Senator Mourdock and in his/her unbalanced state, exacts revenge on the Senator by murdering the Senator's family. Doesn't that mean that the death of the family was "something that God intended to happen" and the murderer should not be punished since clearly that was God's plan? I wonder if the Senator would be quite so blithe in his comments then...

I feel like Mourdock's disgusting mentality is a slippery slope...
