You are pretty much 100 percent correct.

But the problem is that AM radio is a very natural medium for the brain washing that the right uses - repetitive, droning in a hypnotic way, angry, creating a divisive us vs them mentality in a way that it blows them as as "true patriots" and "good christians" who are resolute and self reliant while making them out to be victims. Everything is boiled down to one or two word phrases - constitution, states rights, founding fathers, simple easy to understand and sugar high on patriotism and that great, awesome time back then ...

That all works to open up and expose the lesser aspects of the human spirit.

What we are looking for - progress, equality, the common good just does not play as well.

It is boring in facts and policy, it is hard because issues are complex and you have to really talk them out to understand them it does not stir up the emotion as much as fighting against some boogyman.
