(55,981 posts)more and more of our Constitutional rights away. Corporations are becoming more and more powerful. Every year the wealth gap widens as the middle and working classes and the poor sink farther while the corporations gain more and more power. As we've seen our election system is one of the worst of all modern countries. Massive voter disenfranchisement and actual voter fraud is common place. Recent studies had concluded that the lower 99% do not effect the workings of our government.
Now some authoritarian followers are very comfortable with this arrangement as the poor get poorer and vote to maintain the status quo with corporate power running the government. They would be Tories, comfortable with the rule of the British Aristocracy and the East India Company, the world's first corporation.
Scoff all you want but we have 2.5 million homeless children and things are not looking up as we face a dominance of capitalist corporations that care nothing about the homeless children.
