I don't know how many ridiculous, farcical "hearings" like this have gone on in the US Senate, but I would wager that there's been quite a few. You have the Republican senator, smirking like W as he delivers his carefully scripted jabs. You have the paid shill from Canada who's workin' hard for the money and trying her best to appear realistic and believable. And you have the honest professional from north of the border telling it like it really is... When will Americans wake up and see the truth about how they're being taken advantage of by the private, for profit health insurance industry?

I suppose that this whole US versus Canada health care "debate" is yet another attempt by the corporate powers that be to create fake controversy and introduce doubt, much as it has with the Global Warming and Climate Change debate. And before that, we had the whole "tobacco science" charade, with its share of paid shills and pseudo-experts denying the hard evidence...
