Thanksgiving Day is an unconstitutional violation of the wall of separation between church and state.

We love to quote the Dansbury letter's language but we scrupulously ignore what the topic was.

Then we redefine "thankful" as an adjective with two semantic roles instead of the traditional three. ("x thankful to y for z" becomes "x thankful about z" with "thankful" reduced to "fuzzy, warm feeling&quot .

Makes as much sense to me as redefining "give" as a two-place predicate.
