2. There's no incentive for Republicans to change.

Gerrymandering has locked in their voters. Corporations are locked into the quid pro quo money train. Rightwing media and hate radio delivers all the propaganda to keep their voters in line. Red states are supporting the GOP with populous legislation and court cases that shore up their messaging extravaganza. Their demented base is well trained to vote Republican regardless of how bizarre and crazy the candidates are.

It's the perfect storm. The only way to change this is to eliminate every rightwing politician, either by new laws that level the playing field, or an overwhelming majority of Dem voters electing new Dems in the state and federal levels.
