I think such cases would be extremely rare and maybe even difficult to prove in court. There are extensive screenings for people to obtain green cards and the citizenship. Not to mention that many countries do not allow dual citizenship meaning those people had renounced their prior citizenship. I find it highly unlikely that criminals would want to go through extensive background check to get naturalized, it is absurd. I understand the case of nazis, who legally changed their names. Maybe some people escaping abuse have to change their names as well, or through witness protection. Can a person born in the US be stripped of citizneship? If naturalized citizens can, then those born here could also be subject to this with a suitable SC court ruling and reinterpretation of US constitution (e.g., parents must be citizens which they are not in case of anchor babies) - this may potentially include millions of latinos. There must be some sort of statue of limitation because even those who commited tax fraud get a free pass after 3 years I beleive.
