So, again, the takeaway here is that Catholics ignore what the Pope tells them to do, but that somehow the Pope addressing the subject of global warming will have an impact of some kind.

As far is it being the "most practiced religion" in the US, the breakdown is as follows:

Although it might be tangentially interesting to know what you mean by "practiced", given that you have already claimed the overwhelming majority of US so-called Catholics do not follow church teaching on contraception.
