Yes, if you've never been in the work force, or it has been so long ago and so little that you're out of touch with the working world, then it shouldn't be surprising that someone will comment that you're out of touch. Same thing when supposedly she is a touchstone about what American women think - Ann Romney's experience as a 1% non-working leech doesn't make her qualified to speak on anything regarding virtually all women's experiences. By the by, Mrs. Romney is not even a stay-at-home mother - their staff do that job.
