and if a majority of Senators vote for the nominee, he is approved. That is all that is required by law. There is also nobody else that President Obama might nominate who is going to satisfy people like Ted Cruz, Tom Coburn, et. al. Sorry, Pubs, Obama isn't going to nominate John Bolton for the job.
