Because if you do, it's thanks to Democratic filibustering in the Senate from 2003-2008.

Had Harry Reid not read entire books into the Congressional Record during that time, George W. Bush's plan to use his "political capital" would have succeeded. Your Social Security would have been dumped into the housing market just before it tanked. Your savings would have been spent on gasoline and a war in Iran. Our forests would have been cut down, own mountaintops removed, your home (if you still had one) structurally weakened by earthquakes, your groundwater would be poisoned, and as the deleterious health effects of such behavior began to manifest itself, your insurance company would have dropped you and left you to die.

That's what would have happened when roles were reversed. But during that time, Democrats never obstructed and delayed in order to deliberately make life worse for Americans, as Republicans have for the past three and a half years. They never raised your taxes, as Republicans did just two months ago. They never wrecked the nation's credit rating.

So hell yes, Democrats have already demonstrated that in a tit for tat situation they are morally superior. Anything you have left is proof of that.
