My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife while you and her are going through this horrible time with her illness. You are doing the only thing you can do by being by her side. You have already proved your value to our country many times over.
Thank you for your service.
But don't give up hope that your wife can recover from one of the worst forms of cancer. I know how scary it can be. I was working over 500 miles away from my wife when she called and told me the Dr.s had found a tumor on her pancreas and they wanted to operate the next morning. I drove all night and got to the hospital before the operated but I was a nervous wreck and did a lot of praying and worrying that night. I turned out the tumor was not malignant.
Just keep in mind the recoveries that Justice RBG made over years. She first had colon cancer when she was almost 70. Then almost 10 years later they discovered she had pancreatic cancer. She recovered completely from that, she then had a stent put in a artery near her heart. After that she broke 3 ribs in a fall. When they did a follow up exam of the ribs they found cancer nodules on her lungs. They successfully removed all of them. Then in August of last year it was revealed she had just undergone 3 weeks of intense radiation for pancreatic cancer again. But in Jan. of this year she announced she was cancer free.
She is almost 90 years old but a strong will and lots of prayers and positive thoughts from all over the country gave her the strength to beat the cancer. I don't know your wife but I know how strong willed you are and if she was married to you for all these years she must be strong willed also. And I promise you she will receive lots of prayers and positive thoughts.
Keep up your strength and take care of yourself and that will help her lot.
