The article of origin is from a Rupert Murdoch (News Corp) rag obviously completely lacking in editorial credibility.

If tRump truly lead a parade in NYC, the entire supply of eggs in the city would be exhausted in minutes.....

Note the headline says "kick-off" rather than "lead".

Trump won’t be marching in the parade after his opening ceremony speech. But Marine Corps Commandant Gen. David Berger will serve as honorary grand marshal and will lead a contingent of Marines up Fifth Avenue.
