20. I've wondered the same thing...

I have no doubt there's an opiod crisis, but the FDA and state medical boards have doctors scared to help many patients genuinely in pain who don't abuse their meds. I deal with migraines, and fortunately, non-narcotics work..usually. I can't imagine having a chronic pain problem with no access to meds that work.

Constant pain wears on you, and I can see how it could degrade a person's mental state that they would take anything they could get their hands on, or worse, commit suicide.
