8. Because the committees need to seem like the reasonable party in court

This makes good, strategical, sense. If they allow the Trump this time to try to appeal, then when they get to SCOTUS they can prove they have made every effort to be reasonable and work with Trump's team to find a path to cooperation without the court having to get involved.

This will make any arguments to higher courts easier for the committees. They won't have appeared to be bratty toddlers like Trump.

They are doing the right thing in letting him exhaust all arguments at the lower courts. That way, the higher courts won't have any reason to remand the case back to the lower courts for further consideration. A little bit of time NOW can save a lot of time later.
