Response to Cold War Spook (Reply #6)

Sun Apr 14, 2019, 04:09 AM

14. I have a rule for myself about forgiveness.

If I cannot forget it, I cannot forgive it. I have been relatively lucky in my personal life - I have forgotten (and therefore forgiven) many small things over my years.

Forgiveness, at its base, means forgetting the offense, because otherwise you carry the anger on - and that is not forgiveness.

Some offenses should not be forgotten, and therefore, cannot (in all honesty) be forgiven.
