4. I realize that NATO began as an opponent to Russia.

That was its original purpose. But now it serves the purpose of insuring harmony among the countries that belong to it.

Trump does not understand how the world has changed since he was a child.

And I wonder whether Putin "gets it"?

European countries fought with each other over and over at a huge cost in terms of deaths and economic destruction.

And since NATO, those countries that are members share information and deal with each other without war. That is why NATO is a sacred bond that we should all value.

Trump is an ignoramus when it comes to foreign policy. How can anyone support him?

No war in Western Europe since 1945??????

That is the accomplishment of NATO. That peace is well worth any price.

We should not leave NATO or Europe no matter what.

I cannot believe the ignorance of Trump's statements. And the nodding heads on his side of the table???? Where have these people been since 1945?
