4. If it's a good treaty, it can stand a vote

That is why the Senate should advise and consent. My understanding is that treaties are binding in the way that other agreements aren't. Also the advantage is that any treaty is completely out there for inspection and debate. I believe it's actually one of the most important things the Senate is supposed to do.
