You should probably familiarize yourself with the constant changes to the rules of engagement in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as the authorization process for fire missions.
To say they were designed to protect civilian lives is talking point BS. The previous administration Command and Control structure put American lives at risk.
A asymmetrical conflicts in the Middle East are much different than were those of Southeast Asia, thankfully we learned from them.

Either way the point with regards to clapping for their Commander and Chief is fine...they clapped for Obama, Bush and Clinton....Ooooo Marines clapped for the commander and chief....you're right, Boo fucking Hoo.
