6. And we wonder why industrial workers went for Trump

The protection of union jobs cements their loyalty. Go talk to a union ironworker about their preference for American steel. The ones out here love trump because of the preception that he cares about the steel industry.

I would love to see the industry expand and build mills using union labor and domestic materials. That means jobs, and money in the pocket. My mill (forrest products) is working all shifts and OT is available most days. That has not happend in years. Right or wrong, the union workforce credits Trump.

Add in we are actually seeing more money in paycheck after the tax overhaul, and you have loyalty. The party needs to think hard about how to reach out to these folks if they want them back. Im a minority trying to point out Trumps shortcomings to my coworkers wearing MAGA hats.
