In reply to the discussion: Republican Roy Moore refuses to concede in Alabama Senate race, telling supporters, Its not over [View all]mr_lebowski
(33,643 posts)45. They'll probably try to argue some bullshit math like its '.5% of the eligible voting population!'
So, the denominator isn't the % of people who ACTUALLY voted ... and since ... lets say ... 31% of 'eligible' people voted, and the margin was 1.5% then it's actually within .5% of the total POSSIBLE voters ... or something like that ...
Of course they'll count the disenfranchised (people who would've been turned down for lack of ID, being felons, etc) in the denominator to reach the .5% they're looking for ...
Lets just say ... I won't fucking be at ALL surprised if they try to drag this bullshit out with specious legal arguments for as long as possible. And insult the intelligence of every single human being in the world in the process.

What is it with Republicans and Math? 49.92% - 48.38% 1.54%, which is greater than 0.5%

Per MSNBC, the secretary of state he's going to talk to sees no way Moore can win. n/t

Why should he concede? His political career is over. But hopefully he'll see prison time now.
