In reply to the discussion: DNC chair: Al Franken should resign from the Senate [View all]Rollo
(2,559 posts)45. This is sad...
I have tremendous respect for Al Franken. His cross examination of Sessions was pure genius. He puts check marks on all the right items.
And I don't think what he's been accused of is even remotely as heinous as the things Trump has bragged about, and which Moore is alleged to have done.
Still, if the allegations against Franken are true, and I have no idea if they are, but if they are, he kind of blew it, don't you all think? I mean, his work for the common good stands to be torpedoed by this growing scandal.
I hope he hangs in there for the ethics investigation. But if he doesn't, he'll still be one of my favorite pundits.

I detest this peer pressure group attack. It's high school. We women know Franken is an ally.

I agree. It bothers me that someone can be presumed guilty on anonymous allegations.

Damn right. It's pathologically neurotic for Dems to self-impose such standards. Fuck this shit.

Nope. Never. Franken is a female ally and the party needs to stop this stupid, purist attack.

I've been a Democrat for over 50 years, but I'm leaving if he resigns tomorrow.
