She went and did a show in the heart of backwoods racism early in her career. She's promoted reading. She's provided an uplifting "spiritual but not religious" alternative to Sunday morning programming on her channel.

I'm sure you meant well with your post, but if "weight loss" is the only thing you know about Oprah, you aren't acquainted with her work.
