BANGOR, Maine Some residents of Appleton and Union are reporting that they received fliers purportedly left for them by the Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.
At least one or two recipients lodged complaints Sunday with the Knox County Sheriffs Office, a Knox County Regional Communications Center dispatcher confirmed.
Information about the complaints was not immediately available late Sunday. Sgt. Patrick Polky did not immediately return a message left for him Sunday afternoon.
A photo provided to the Bangor Daily News shows that the fliers bear the KKKs insignia, a drawing of a Klansman wearing the groups well-known white pointed hood and long robe, the U.S. flag and the toll-free number for the organizations 24-hour Klanline.
