In reply to the discussion: Rep. Darrell Issa willing to postpone House contempt vote against AG Eric Holder [View all]sofa king
(10,857 posts)Arizona was one of the places where the Bush Administration pushed out the previous US Attorney there and replaced that person with a Bush-friendly shill.
The Democrats who form their own de facto investigative committee within Issa's little witch hunt produced their own report which placed the blame rather squarely on the Arizona office of DoJ and the Bush-appointed US Attorney, which in turn directly implicates the Republican Party since they have already been busted playing politics with those positions.
Issa desperately shifted the focus of the investigation to beyond the Bush Administration, but it appears to me as if President Obama's DoJ began assembling a case against the Arizonans by roughly September, 2009.
I think Karl has decided it's too risky to try to pin a Bush scandal on President Obama, particularly if the DoJ is delaying the release of documents in order to damage the GOP at the most opportune time. I further suspect that President Obama, who appears to delight in turning the criminal ways of his opposition against them, already has a detailed answer for Issa, one which the Republicans who know how criminal they really were don't wish to come to light.
So the reverse lights have come on, but the truck is still stuck in a Republican swamp. Now, we watch 'em spin wheels until they sink.
