2. My two favorite Goober episodes ....

... First, the one where Andy has to go out of town and leaves Goober to answer the telephone.

Goober, to stay near the phone, rebuilds Gilly's (Larry Hovis, Carter on Hogan's Heros) car inside the sheriff's office.

Second, one of the post Don Knotts episodes where Goober grows a beard and miraculously becomes an 'intellectual'.

Goober was dumber even than Gomer ... but perhaps more lovable.
