(22,143 posts)I just don't have the means to make a move, which is just how they want it of course. But I'm starting to think that if I'm going to be poor I might as well go be poor somewhere else. Scandanavia sounds just right for me.
It doesn't really even matter who wins the election because as 2008 showed us, even when "we" win, we still lose. We needed radical change and we had the majorities to do it but "our" guys bent over backwards to avoid doing anything meaningful, to seek middle ground and be bipartisan. They were scared to death to do what they were elected to do and seemed relieved when they got the shit kicked out of them in the midterms. It meant they could go back to the empty rhetoric and lip service and saying "we want to but we can't", all the while knowing they don't want to do anything but serve their owners.
I'm now out of work for a full year with no prospects in sight. I've worked only seven months out of the last twenty-four. And as bad as I have it, I know lots of people that have it worse. I hate it here anymore. So much ignorance and stupidity. So much crab barreling and divisiveness.
