4. It's impossible, there's 10's of millions of people and only 1 main North/South highway.

FEMA law only mandates hotels allowing pets in the state in which the disaster occurs, in the original models, no place in FL was safe and no guarantee motels out of state would accept us. That's why we decided to stay home with our large old dog and 2 old cats. Now that it's moving to the west, I feel much safer at home in Jax. than I would be on the road with our animals. Jax. seems to be beloved of weather gods, we've only been hit once directly by a hurricane in recorded history and that was a cat 1. There's been tons of times a hurricane was predicted to hit here and they always move away, just like Irma is doing. I wonder what is it about the weather patterns around Jax. that cause this, but very glad it's so.
