(58,785 posts)Parscale's probably small potatoes--elbowed aside early on by the Cambridge Analytica operation nutcase billionaire Mercer brought in, but of course what does Parscale know?
Bannon, though, boasts of an ultraconservative international movement to destroy both liberalism and secularism, both lynch pins of successful democracies. He was on the board of Cambridge Analytica, but that is just the US subsidiary of a much older UK defense contractor Strategic Communication Laboratories, commonly known as SCL Group. SCL's "a "global election management agency" that's apparently been most active in "developing" nations.
As for possible ties to Russia, the most well known site I found connecting SCL-Russia-Trump is DailyKos. These names are being circulated among obscure-to-me sites but apparently not yet reported by investigative journalists with reputations for integrity to protect.
"19 Paths to Putin: Donald Trump has many connections to Putin. Time to count the ways. ...
His Chief Strategist is Steve Bannon. Bannon is the CEO of Breitbart, with the Mercer family having majority ownership. The Mercers, along with Bannon are heavily involved in Cambridge Analytica a data gathering firm. Cambridge Analyticas parent company is SCL Group, which lists Dmitry Firtash as a board member. Breitbart and Bannon have extensive ties to the far right movement in Europe which is also funded by Putin."

Grabbed quickly from one of those obscure sites: "Cambridge Analyticas British parent company, SCL, has attracted criticism for some unusual strategies, such as trying to persuade opposition supporters not to vote in a Nigerian election, using the influence of local religious figures. Interesting work, but obviously not being paid to spread democracy.
