(17,493 posts)but when two parties fight like children in an unsupervised playground it is hard to make progress on solving any problems.
The Tea Party has driven the Republican Party to be far more conservative and its members have a "it's our way or the highway" view of politics. The cost of running never ending political campaigns has led to some politicians being bought and owned by the rich and the big corporations. Efforts to gain control over the influence of Big Money on our political environment have largely failed.
We have been survived many other rough times in our history and I feel that we will survive this one. Eventually the voters will become totally fed up with the situation and correct the problem in a dramatic fashion. Of course this assumes that at that time we still will have a system where the votes are properly counted.
