Motorola several years moved all of its repair work on two-way radios from Illinois to a brand new facility just across the border. Now radios a dealer sends off for repair go to a warehouse on the US side then get trucked across the border.

Price for repair didn't drop a bit, of course.

If a company or agency wants or must had US based service, such as federal government agencies or those with sensitive jobs, they must specify US based service in the contract when a system is adopted.

These are true high-tech skilled jobs where a technician uses test equipment worth hundreds of thousands to diagnose, repair and reprogram some very high-end and high tech radios.
