I remember President Carter and the more I learn about him the more admiration I have. And in the succeeding decades, his commitment to service and human rights has never changed. I recently listened to his 2014 autobiography, "A Full Life: Reflections at 90," for the second time - have it on audio, read by the author! - and I recommend it highly. I knew I agreed with him on most things, but he surprised even me with his incisive take on the issues we're confronting now.

I have heard President Clinton speak in person and I have to say he was just wonderful. And I have unending admiration for President Obama, has the intelligence and temperament that were ideal for the job. But I agree, if I could meet any president, Jimmy Carter would be my first choice, too.
