(11,936 posts)37. Bill Maher doesn't really have a "libertarian" bent.
He said that years ago when libertarian meant something different to him. He is a social libertarian. Most liberals are. He wants the government to stay out of people's bedrooms and is against the war on drugs. But he is for universal healthcare, strong social safety nets, seems to mostly espouse Keynesian ideas regarding economics, is all for stimulus during a recession and taxing the rich more, etc.
