We are facing a sad and scary time, one with which they were well acquainted.

They came from (mainly) Europe where church and state were indivisibly joined, and they knew what madness that carried.

They were also well aware of man's avaricious ways and wanted to protect us from such horror.

What would they say, if they could see where we are now?

We have squandered the promise of America.
