Goponics also include the inability of Goponics native speaker to read scripts and teleprompters with sentences to include both dog-whistles and subtle insults to their listeners.
Goponics native speakers are typically failed businessmen or other failed professionals who leveraged any combination of good looks, family influences or taxpayer funds to fool enough people to rise to a level of political authority two to three levels above their natural talents or abilities.
As for Trump voters - not all of them are "the deplorables" but at least half of them have no problem allowing the deplorables to be the representation their idea of a "lesser of two evils" society.
The people who voted for Trump/Pence they didn't feel threatened letting outright racists, homophobes, sexists, religious bigots and economic "hit-men" take over the country because these people were less threatening to their personal world-view.
It's very difficult to feel any sympathy - or - respect for them as they've basically agreed with the viewpoint. that 3/4 of the country doesn't matter. Claiming ignorance doesn't cut it - not even for sweet little old grandmas, old friends, and kindly avuncular neighbors who might have been "tricked".
These people - most of whom have been described by their supporters as good, moral, church-goers and educated people, still watched enough TV and indulged in enough media back and forth that they could be under no illusions of the type of people who were feeding them fear, hate, and other shit. They made a choice to go a little bit forward or a lot backwards. At best, they made a lazy comfortable, easy choice for them that puts them in the back of the line for future economic and social pain.
Because in their hearts, they know they're not going feel the worse effects of their choice for a long time - until it finally becomes their turn - and by then, everything will be pretty much fixed by the hated, "misguided", easy to target liberals, just as always happened in the past...
...until it doesn't. Until the Constitution of the United States can no longer contain and check the darker nature of power.
And then we become a new country - no longer under secular laws that protect all inhabitants - and the legal definition of citizenship is twisted to a sectarian definition, leaving out a significant portion of the population.
But hey, maybe we'll not only retain 3/5's legal citizenship status for minority populations, but women will now be included as 3/5's; after all, who needs suffrage if the rich folk on the hill will be taking on the burden of running the country for the rest of us.
