9. jeez - - the Fairness Doctrine again....

a few points:

1) Applied only to over the air radio and tv broadcasts. it would not impact satellite/internet content providers.
2) The electronic media landscape is radically different today than 60 or so years ago. The diversity of content providers has never been greater.
3) At the peak of the Fairness Doctrine, news (especially on radio) was just pablum. Content was limited to things that wouldn't trigger FD requirements.
4) The government shouldn't be in the content business and with today's political environment it would be forced into that role.
