(37,648 posts)people who drink large sugar sodas, only. It's usually men, some of whom are just big and tall men, some of whom are normal sized but very thirsty or want to have some soda to last for a car trip or whatever. Some are overweight, no doubt.
I am not fat and don't drink sugar sodas, so his ban wouldn't affect me. But I think it's a ban that crosses a line. Makes me want to adopt the "nanny government" term. It's different from ciggies, since ciggies are addictive, and even one pack damages lungs. But one large sugar soda occasionally doesn't do any damage to the body, if the person lives an otherwise healthy lifestyle.
What's next? Fining people who don't work out three times a week for at least 30 minutes each time? It's most certainly more unhealthy not to do that than to drink a large sugar soda.
It's ridiculous. New York doesn't even have the obesity problem that many other cities do.
