(28,581 posts)84. I was watching some Vice dispatches tonight and something struck a cord.
There was a couple in Paris who were visiting from India. The gentleman said "I think this is our new global normal" and I think he is right. Not just Muslim extremists, but also people like the guy who shot up Planned parenthood or the guy who killed all the kids on that island in Norway.
People and groups are turning to violence and more people are arming themselves out of fear. But that fear will do nothing to stop what is happening. More guns is not the answer. What is also scary is that many people buying these weapon have no idea how to use those weapons and they have no idea how to react in a stressful active shooting situation.
