Planned Parenthood was the very best place to go to get good women's healthcare if you were low income. Many years later, following a divorce and my son grown and gone, I once again was very low income. Thank god they were there for me. I could not have afforded healthcare at that time. It wasn't just birth control either. They did very thorough exams and referred women to other clinics if there were concerns. They were always there for me. They are the one charity I always give to, even when my resources are stretched.
