A sad, sad obituary of liberal thought and freedom. I can only hope we can get it back.

The hawks among us, Dem and Repug alike, love to say "Freedom isn't Free." They usually say that as an excuse to start another war. But what it really means is you can't sit on your ass and trust your leaders not to abuse power. Never, not in the entire history of mankind, has greater governmental power over its citizens led to greater freedom.

We must fight to maintain our rights, or see them washed away, be it in a great flood, or more likely, by steady erosion over time by fear and greed.
